Why Doodles?
First, let's clear up a common misconception about doodles. You might have heard that "Doodles are hypoallergenic dogs," but that is not true. There is no dog that is 100% hypoallergenic. Doodles tend to be a great addition for someone that has mild allergies, because they have hair instead of fur and excrete a different level of sebum off their skin. Our F1 Doodles are low-no shedding. I might occasionally see some hair when brushing them or when bathing, but that is typically all I notice.
Allergies are a complicated subject because people can be allergic to things other than dog hair.
Each individual doodle's shedding is dependent upon their genetic make-up. Most doodles are low-shedding or non-shedding dogs.
How We Came to Love Doodles
The Search Began
Ultimately, we decided that we'd like to find a low to non-shedding dog, with a medium energy that was well-suited for family life with small children. Enter, the Doodle breed! We loved the combination of the intelligent, friendly and eager to please Standard Poodle with the easy-going, good-natured, loyal Bernese Mountain Dog. Best of all, we could have the best of both worlds with a Bernedoodle. We met Reece and instantly fell in love! She is eager to please, sweet-natured, loves all humans and dogs alike, and is one of the most athletic doodles I've ever met! She's our program's foundation Mom, and we will be forever grateful for her love & companionship! Next, we added Daphne, our loving "golden girl", a F1 Goldendoodle. She is more gentle, calm & kind - I can only hope that through her puppies we produce more just like her!
